Message throughout boot : (procedure :301) : GLib - WARNING * * : getpwuid_r () : fell short as a result of unidentified customer id (0) at boot

Today when starting my computer system (10.04 32 - little bit, System76 lemur) Ubuntu ran the hard drive check - - as it was ending up the screen went black with this message :

(process:301): GLib-WARNING **: getpwuid_r (): failed due to unknown user id (0)

No key features appeared to function. I reactivated the computer system with the power button and also it has given that been operating great ... what took place? Exists glitch?

It has absolutely nothing to do with dealing with filesystem mistakes, though it is an instead common mistake and also tough to detect. Maybe something significant, yet a lot of the moment it is not if GDM is showing up simply great.

There is a bug concerning it below : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/531027 which reveals simply exactly how common it can be, do not hesitate to add on your own to the "I am influenced by this" checklist.
