iptables does not checklist regulations i have actually developed

I'm making use of this guide to set-up a common net link in between 2 COMPUTER's.

At action 8 it claims I need to run the commands:

iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o eth0 -j MASQUERADE
/etc/rc.d/iptables save
/etc/rc.d/iptables start

Doing this appears to have no result on iptable's regulations, if I run iptables -nvL my result is:

Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT 2223 packets, 2330K bytes)
pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination

Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT 0 packets, 0 bytes)
pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination

Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT 2272 packets, 277K bytes)
pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination

Is that proper or am I doing glitch?

The command iptables -nvL is presenting the materials of the filter table. The regulation you are including remains in the nat table. Add -t nat to consider the nat table :

iptables -t nat -nvL
