Is it safe to upgrade Ubuntu on Dell Vostro V130?
I simply acquired a Dell Vostro V130 note pad for my partner, and also I intended to maintain the preinstalled Ubuntu, at the very least for some time (and afterwards, if required, change it with OpenSuSe).
Yet given that the preinstalled variation is 10.04 I intended to at the very least install the existing variation. Is it secure? The note pad appears to be just licensed for the preinstalled 10.04 variation (and also absolutely nothing else).
Exists some HW ball that just exists in the preinstalled variation that is protecting against the regular (and also existing) variation to function?
I attempted the upgrade and also it appeared to have actually functioned.
dell-laptop-dkms plan fell short to update to the new bit (and also I have no suggestion where to get it in a more recent variation), yet the system appears to be functioning anyhow (have not seen anything missing out on yet).
