How to install man pages for C standard library functions in Ubuntu?

In my college, I can do such points as:

  • male strlen
  • male strcpy
  • male msgget
  • male msgctl

and also a wonderful hand-operated web page shows up. On my computer I get

$ man strcat
No manual entry for strcat

Any aid on just how to get those documents web pages right into my computer system?

You might find glibc - doc plan valuable too. From http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/glibc-doc:

Contains The GNU C Library Reference guidebook in details and also html layout along with the male web pages for libpthread features and also the full GNU C Library ChangeLog.

Install the manpages-dev and also manpages-posix-dev (many thanks ChristopheD) plans. You need to have the ability to locate them in synaptic, or type

apt-get install manpages-dev
apt-get install manpages-posix-dev

at the command line.

It constantly frustrates me concerning ubuntu that I need to go looking around for the male web pages and also details web pages to load. Fedora mounts docs by default. At the very least they appear to be considering it: http://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/idea/10240/
