Can I transform the tag of an access in the Finder sidebar?

I have a pair folders in my Finder is sidebar. Given that they are nested (on the real documents system), the names aren't really detailed. Exists a means I can transform the name of the access in the sidebar without transforming the real name of the folder?

This was feasible in Tiger (As much as I can bear in mind or Leopard) yet on Snow Leopard, the "pen name" is instantly settled.

If you create an Alias on your desktop computer for a folder XYZ and afterwards drag the Alias onto your sidebar, it's instantly settled . So it does not appear to be feasible to bypass this.
