Installing Python in Windows XP

My job computer has constraints that stop me from including programs to the start food selection so when I attempt to install Python making use of the Python 2.6.5 Windows installer it can not finish as it attempts to add a faster way to my start food selection.

Exists a means around this? I.e an additional means of mounting without the demand for a shortcut?¢ I've attempted Python mobile yet as it does not add anything to the computer system registry it can not be identified.
